Survivorman returns!

I will be happy to see Les back in the bush, thanks for posting this find. Les's design is my first Helle, and one of my favorite small bush blades. A great blade at the asking price.

I know what you mean Payette, I'm dying to get a Pathfinder from BHK but $275 is a killer. Though a lot of BHK's stuff is a bit pricey for what it is. I've yet to really look into the knife that Mears' endorses.

I havent seen Les's Helle blade until now and it does like pretty nice at a good price. Ive seen Dave Canterbury's pathfinder knife thru blindhorse and it seemed way out there on the price scale. I dont know a whole lot about those knives but I could never justify almost $300 for a blade like the pathfinder.

Glad to see survivorman coming back though!

Just a bump to say that Stroud's new Camillus branded series of knives will be featured in the newest Survivorman specials/episodes.

The first episode will be set in arctic Norway. Les was supposed to travel to Siberia, but the red tape proved too much of a headache, so he opted for Norway instead. Judging by his Facebook update, he didnt regret it one bit.

I believe I saw summer of 2012 but not sure if that's the air date or when they'll start filming.

Yeah, looks like grylls gear. There's a thread on it in GD.

They started filming a couple of weeks ago in Norway.

Anybody have a link to the Camillus knives you are talking about?

I loved the Survivorman show but I always felt sorry for Les because by the end of the week he almost always had an empty belly and seemed to be suffering.

Really glad Les is back, but those are some butt-ugly knives.

I'm glad he is doing the show again, too. Just wish he would have some better looking blades, instead of those. A little higher price isn't so bad for better quality and better looking knives.

Agreed. The scales look cheap, and the pattern looks like it belongs on a pair running shorts from the 90s.

That will be interesting. B.T.W., after a night of my wifes garlic and onion induced farts, I believe that I have also earned the title of ''survivor man'' !
 :D

I disagree. We're not the market I'm afraid. Cheap and weird looking will sell to people who think a 50 dollar knife is top of the line. Luckily, most of those people won't use the knives for anything other then farting around in their backyards. I'm still optimistic of these though. They may end up being decent beater knives.
