Get one! I just bought my second...
The SS makes a great camp/boat/garden knife. It excels at cutting rope, peeling poles, carving wood, slicing/dicing for food prep, pruning, harvesting, etc. The hawk bill-ish blade design prevents you from accidentally stabbing yourself in potentially unstable balance situations such as climbing, boating. The point pierces easily, then the wicked curve allows easy draw-cuts, whether its loose material such as canvas or leather, rounded objects like stalks, cordage, or produce, or tight packaging, plastic, or straps. I find it excels at "unzipping" game. It admittedly is not a big chopper, but I usually save those chores for (Busse heresy!!!) an axe.
It's also has great potential for personal modifications.
Hope this helps - Cheers,
"Bloody Bill"

Yes, I know it's UGLY! that is, until you try using it! It's also easy to sharpen/resharpen on a ceramic rod or a sandpaper-wrapped dowel rod.

I keep hearing how great these are at slicing and chopping in the kitchen, but I just can't see it. If you have a knife where the tip is lower than the rest of the blade, how can you possibly cut something so the blade edge goes through and cuts fully to the cutting surface? I have plenty of nice kitchen knives and the only ones with this blade shape are paring knives meant to be use for paring toward you while holding the object, not on a board.

I'd love to buy one if I could figure out what I'd use it for, but I can't think of anything.....?

You could make it work in the kitchen, but the whole design is 100% against practical kitchen use.

Exactly what hlee says - a Sus Srofa in complementary combination with a .14 GW or even a BAD makes a great field set!
