Suspect Delica

My stamp looks exactly like yours...complete with the cut-short arms on the "Y."
I got this Delica in YESTERDAY from the Spyderco OUTLET in Golden, CO.
Not to worry.Delica Seki-City stamp.jpg

In someways I almost like the hand done engraving as it kinda reminds me of Japanese writing.

I bought these two from Amazon. First time buying Spyderco from Amazon. Likely be the last. Sold by the Amazon.com Services Inc and not just a random vendor. I thought that would be more reliable than just a vendor on Amazon. I'll just stick with regular knife shops online going forward. That's been my policy up until now. I'd even looked into it and it seemed if it came from Amazon itself, then it would be genuine. At least they're good about returns.
Never buy from Amazon or eBay. Hard lessons to learn.

Took a look at a recent Delica purchase. This is engraved. I mentioned a stamp earlier, which it clearly is not. This also looks very different depending on the viewing angle and angle of the light source. From most perspectives it looks fine.

Is it possible that whatever machine that does the "Seki City Japan" stamp was temporarily not working for some reason, so the makers had to engrave some batches themselves?

Maybe, maybe not; just thought I'd put that out there...

Not a Delica expert, but I suspect the fake FRN doesn’t have the small nub as the end point of another teeth right near the N of the engraving “JAPAN”. Anyone owning a fake can help checking?

This is the sign of a fake Endura, but the missing nub is at the butt end of the handle. Look at Les Garten YouTube, or the fake thread I mentioned earlier.

My SB Endura SEKI CITY engraving is like this :D

The newer Seki models are laser etched, rather than stamped as they used to be. As for the imperfection of the lettering, this was discussed over on the Spyderco forums in relation to the latest V-Toku2 sprint. My Delica looks exactly the same. It looks weird, but it's legit.
