Good morning everyone

Please comment;

I'm trying to buy a knife from member Jeff_t

Shirogorov Ursus—SOLD

Like new condition. Box & COA included. Walnut scales. $510 shipped.

I dont know how the guy got my email, but he emailed me instead of replying on BF messenger. I never gave him my email. How did he get it? His emails seem very scammy. Also, he is requesting PayPal F&F only, but the email he is mailing from and the email he is requesting the payment to dont match. He claims its his wife's address.

I have asked him several times to rather reply on BF Messenger, but he doesnt. It seems to me like the Jeff_t account has been hacked.
 
A simple search would show that you've provided your email several times.
Don't assume you can clown the system just by not using "@" and "."
These guys are smart.

Might not be the OP.

Common scammer tactic is to find your email from old posts and message you requesting FF payment.

If OP's account had been hacked he wouldn't mind PMing you on here too.
 
It sounds like someone is trying to scam you.

There are scammers who prowl the Bladeforums Exchange waiting for someone to say "I'll take it" or similar in response to a knife being offered for sale, then the scammer does a forum search for your name to see if you have ever posted your email anywhere. If they find your email they email you pretending to be the seller requesting payment.

This has been going on for awhile, and there are several discussions about it in The Good, Bad, and Ugly subforum.

Thank you! I did a search and deleted all my old email references. Much appreciated!

Just for your reference, even if you've deleted them, the information might be kept in a scammer's database.
Deleting mentions of it is the right thing to do, but you may also consider making a new email address.
Anticipate that scammers may still make attempts on that email address.

I'll go back and delete the screenshot I took.

If that's the case; it is what it is. I never have knife sellers email me directly, so its easy to avoid. Thanks for the warning, but not bothered. I'm certainly not going to change my email address because of a scammer. Easy to direct such mail to junk folder.

just happened to me

never sent any money as I never got the message on Bladeforums

I’m about to weep openly. This is just like one of those movies where the teacher ends up in an inner city school system and through care and creativity reaches the young gangbangers and teaches them not to fall for scams.

I was so excited and then I saw it was an email to my Google and not Bladeforums messaging system, I was instantly deflated. I am also thankful to this post/thread.
 
FYI is mtbknifeworld account is still actively trying to get money from people.
