Sv35sn love it or hate it?

No complaints here. I really like it. Is sharpens easily on the wicked edge and holds a sharp edge as long if not longer than any other knife steel I've owned. I've never had an issue with rolling or chipping. I don't use my sebenzas as beaters though. I just use them for everyday tasks. If I am going to beat on a knife I use one if my cheapie kershaws or ZTs.

What deg bevels do you run on your CRKs?

So far I am well pleased with the steel. It hones well it performs well and it seems to be a very good compromise of flexibility and edge retention For this type of knife. A compromise between softness and hardness and corrosion resistance, etc. always needs to be decided upon. There obviously will be future steels that will be explored and then applied to the product but I like the fact that Chris Reeve puts a lot of thought and testing into any steel before he makes a change.

No real complaints, but not my favorite. I have a small Sebenza in ats-34, bg42, s30v, and s35. My favorite is the bg42. It holds an edge longer in my use. The s35 is easy to sharpen and performs alright however.

Yes...it's ok where it is...I have little doubt it would perform better a few points higher... :)

Then you have not experienced it a few points higher ;)

I personally have no doubt it performs better a few points higher.

I have used sebenzas in all blade steels. ATS34, BG42, S30V, S35VN, even Devin Thomas's SS Damascus. They ALL Cut well, Held an edge, Is easy to sharpen, Is easy to maintain, VERY corrosion & stain resistant. I have the most experience with S30V as thats whats mostly on the Regular Sebenzas that I prefer. But, I have had several sebenzas over the years with the other blade steels and Honestly, have had no issues with any of them. I sharpen them all the same. I just never see a ton of difference between any of them, if any difference at all. My sebenzas get USED as well. I have made literally TONS of posts over the years here showing my sebenzas in action cutting everything from food, to wood, to tons of cardboard, to tar paper and shingles. I have never had any of the blade steel Roll, Chip, Bend....Nothing.

My motto over the years and with the Tons of experience I have had with CRK is that if its " Good enough for Chris Reeve, its definitely good enough for me ".

I have a Spyderco Native in s35vn,I did roll the edge slightly near the tip (cutting rope on a hard surface )anyhow after reading this I decided to give it fair mini-test ,initially knife was arm hair removing sharp and cut newspaper easily ,
I cut into a 1x2 fir taking off scallops of the wood using the whole edge, I did this 80x
then I cut 50 strips of usps priority box cardboard easily(tape and all)
After all this I was still able to shave hair off my arm easily, but not quite as easily as before
Then I tested on the newspaper that took a bit more effort, but it did slice it okay.
I the cleaned the edge with Ronson's lighter fluid then stropped about 5x each side lightly(rough side leather and white rouge),afterwards it was back to shaving sharp and cut newspaper easily
I am happy with the performance of my s35vn steel in the Spyderco Native, thanks guys for reminding me to do this test.

Great steel, very low maintance. It does great job on all the jobs that I put it on, but it doesn't do an excellent job on them. I actually have my edge at <20 on my Insingo and it hasn't chipped or anything. I actually recommend you just buy it used. I got all of mine used and I'm perfectly happy with them. You don't have to worry about babying one and you can just use it for whatever you want. If you don't like it, you can probably sell it for the same price that you got it or close to it. I think that's the one of the true beauties of CRK; they are just always in demand and maintain their value well.
