Does anyone have one of these, or has handled one??
Are they available in the states?
They look like they are a full convex ground, and carbon steel.
Just curious. :) :)
Dave.

I have a bird and trout.yes its full convex grind and I consider it a good knife for the money.I think I paid about $40 for it shipped.I can't remember where I ordered it from as its been awhile.

Thanks for the information. Did you buy it direct from New Zealand? Or is there a US distributer?
Dave.

A quick Google search for "Svord knives" reveals a number of websites that sell them in the US.

Good knives, made not far from here. They can be bought in most hunting and fishing type shops. He also has a web site. Good value for money .

www.svord.com theyer kind of crude but some are ok , theyer not to exspencive, the little peasent folding knife is quite good,

Thanks all.
Padawan - I googled as you suggested, and only got retailers in New Zealand and Australia and England.  I was hoping for one in the USA.
Ausjulius - They do look sort of crude. But they do look like a full convex grind:) :)

He makes knives at different levels of finish, but it has to be said that the overall finish can be a little agricultural. Not too much time spent on the polishing buff. The knives are well made, durable and sharp, they come in well made leather sheaths and represent excellent value as hard use tools. If you want shiney buy something in 420J2 LOL

Their website states that they are available in the US. If interested it would probably be a good idea toemail them and see if they have a US distributor.

Extremely solid well made knife, but not pretty at all. This is definitely a user and not something that should live in the safe.

At the price I believe it offers good value.

Cheers,

Greg

Yep the Von Temsky is great, so are some of the other biggies, the scramasax and bush machete for example. Both versions of the Pigsticker are superb and the Peasant knife is a real winner.
Svord are not my favourite local makers, Bill Reddiex and Richard van Dijk win there, but for semi-production blades Svord can't be beat.

For me I like Bill Reddiex and Brent Sandow the best, not sure which I like more. http://www.brentsandowknives.com/
(Bill really needs a website, something I mentioned to him years ago when I visited his shop in palmy.)

But they're in a wholly different price point ofcourse.

Svord is damned good value for money.

Well we can only hope there is a show in Auckland this year. Really missed it last year. I have also had Bill on about a website but he doesn't seem to want a bar of it.
