I bought a new Svord Peasant but the handles are too tight and I can't adjust them in order to get the blade in and out freely.

I don't want to bother returning it and the blade has a lot of potential so I will give it away to someone that will make some custom scales for it and enjoy it.

In order to enter just mention what custom handles you've made for other knives in the past, if possible post pictures. I will announce the winner by Monday 16th.

Cool giveaway, but I don't understand how you can't turn two flat head screws to your preferred tension.

I've made two sets of scales for my Tenacious (bamboo and osageorange), wood sales for two Kershaw Chills (ipe and osage orange), a Kershaw Half Ton, and an Ontario field Knife.

I'd love to win it, but not an entry.
Seems like a knife I'd want to be somewhat
tight. Not sure why you couldn't adjust the pivot
or just oil it and break it in with use?
Anyway, good of you to offer it up.
Good luck everyone.

I tried turning the screw but I have no way of holding the other end of it so it just spins. On top of that, it's the aluminum handled Peasant, and just from holding it I can tell it wouldn't be too comfortable to use. I bought a polyprop handled one too and that's the one I'll be keeping.

Working on my first real custom handle for an old hickory butchers knife. Customized a tenacious by taking a dremel to the g10 and a few opinels. Sorry no pics, cameras out of commission currently

I have made a few scales for my knives, but I've made more handles for hidden tang fixed blades.

I did make some wooden scales for a benchmade barrage, but that's not a very traditional knife.

If what I said is enough to be in on this giveaway, then I'm in.

edited.

Since this is no longer in the traditional forum I'll post pictures of the benchmade.

The pictures are of a bad quality, and I hadn't finished the scales at the time. I don't have any pictures of the finished result.

I did these recently.

That seems like it'd be a lot of fun.

How about putting a small o-ring or rubber band between the female end of the screw and the handle scale? That should hold it in place while you turn the male end.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't adjust the peasant to your liking.

That said, I'd love to have a chance to own one.

This is my first try with micarta. I think it worked out pretty well (bluejean and gold toe socks believe it or not).

Cheers!

Nice of you to pass this one along!
I've made a fair amount of custom scales, but these are my latest:

Here are the scales I have made for some of my knives. Haven't done too many, but it sure is rewarding.

I would love to say that I am in... but I have zero experience with handle/scale making :( Nice GAW though. Good luck to all

Very nice work all of you! I wasn't expecting this many entries so quick. In order for everyone to have a fair chance I'll randomly pick a winner. Can't wait to see what kind of scales the winner makes for the Peasant.
