Svord Peasant Giveaway

I have done a benchmade adamas, a spyderco endura 4, 2 svords, a couple coldsteel knives, A tops knife... and a few others I think.

My avatar has the scale I made for my ZT550. Made scales for my Tenacious as well. Been making fixed blade knives for Christmas lately using mesquite, bubinga, zebrawood and wingay. Would love a shot at making some for this knife.

I have no pictures but I have made many "custom" grips for old machetes when I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Western Samoa. Two slabs of wood on either side of a machete (bush knife) blade make an effective replacement handle. Stove bolts can be used to hold the two sides together, if official handle rivets are unavailable. No drill press to drill holes for the stove bolts? No problem - a nail heated red hot with a kerosene pressure stove can be used to burn the needed holes. Once the replacement wood handle is attached, it can be soothed and shaped with a small knife or a wood rasp. Otherwise, a serviceable machete handle can be made from strips of bicycle inner tube wrapped around the blade. ;)

Thanks for the giveaway. Although I have never used a Svord, I do have a sister living in New Zealand (Christchurch):D

Im in for sure...been thinking about getting one just to make custom handles for it.

I have not refitted others knives with new scales just yet, but that is in the works. I have built new knives with my own scales. I recently picked up a Schrade 175 that is pretty rough and plan to rehandle it.

Haven't ever made scales, ever, but would the opportunity to try, especially on a knife as nice as this one. I'm retired, do some woodworking, and would love to pick up some exotic wood for scales. Whoever gets it I'm sure will do it justice.

Last chance to get in on this guys! I'll be drawing a winner tomorrow. I wish I had more of these Peasants to give away and see what handles everyone comes up with.
These are really inexpensive guys and worth buying just to give them a try. If you end up not liking them you can always give them away or keep them in your car in case you ever lose or forget your knife.

Good luck everyone.

I've just started tinkering with making wood scales to replace g-10. I've got some for my Buck Vantage and Tenacious in the works, but I've got a long ways to go to reach the kind of skills shown on this forum.

Here are the scales I have made for some of my knives. Haven't done too many, but it sure is rewarding.

WOW!!!! Awesome. This is my first give away win.
I will most definitely try to find something cool to outfit this knife with.
It will be my first friction folder, so it will be a welcome addition.
Thanks so much for your generosity.
