Svord Peasant modification

So I ordered a svord peasant from knife center not too long ago and bought it with the soul intent of modifying it. The original knife was cheaply made, still had heat treat scale on it, felt like sand in the pivot, rattle constantly and everything else you could hate in a knife.

So I fixed all that :D.

I gave it new handles made of bocote.

Polished the pivot area so it moved smoothly and made the handle a much better size.

I left the blade shape alone but re-centered the edge and put a tip back on it as it was very blunt.

In all, the whole project including the blade was about $25 (bocote handle scales were $4.99 the knife was about $15.00 and stop pins and what-not about another $5.00)

I would highly recommend this project to someone looking for a nice little pimp job.

Nicely done, sir! You did a great job with the handles on this one. It looks really solid. Are you planning to use it for anything special, or just a project?

Ill probally edc it for a while then go back to some of my favorites.

And thanks for the compliments.

Looks great. The wood along with the blade reminds me of a more rustic design, maybe what you might see in the pioneer days. They go well together!

Absolutely beautiful ! If you start carrying and using it, this simple knife might well grow on you. The fact is the Peasant needs some mods to be actually usable, but once you're there, it's a very enjoyable knife (for people with great pockets).

I've been thinking about getting a svord knife and making new handles for it. Just haven't gotten around to order one yet.

Could you show what the inside looks like, and would you say it's an easy project?

I used stop pins from usa knifemaker and 2-56 torx screws.

I would have to say it was a fairly easy build for me,(only took about 3 hours), but I do have some experience with making fixed blade.
I do also have a drill press which you might be able to do without but I certainly couldnt have done it.

Let me know if you want measurements or direct blueprints.

What format are the blueprints in?

Great work ... you actually itched me - I need to get a Svörd Peasant and some stag slabs... seein what might come out :D

I can do drawings (takes the least amount of time) or I could transfer everything to draftsight.

Either way is good with me, send me an email or pm if you would like them but I cannot do it tonight as im only on BF while im waiting for epoxy to cure on a few knives :D.

I don't want to put you through the trouble for something I *might* get to make. I drew this (nowhere near as nice) thing in draftsight and cut it at work. I'm always looking for knife DXF files. Anything you already have would be great.

man,the peasant knife wasnt even on my radar

until now, that is just a pretty knife, [edited] :D
not sure that this is the right area for that though, still awfully purty
