Svord Peasant modification

Very nice work ARK...the handle looks a lot like the Sodbuster handles. While we're on the subject of changing out knife handles, can you swap out the handles on a Case Sodbuster Jr and replace it with customer supplied knife and pre-ban elephant ivory?

it looks like you should be able to do that, I would be worried about the integrity of the ivory if there are no liners. But I think its doable.

I'm not saying I see any, exactly. Just giving a reminder.

Sorry, but I wasn't even thinking of taking a custom pimp job...books are closed right now anyways but thanks for the warning.

So I ordered a svord peasant from knife center not too long ago and bought it with the soul intent of modifying it. The original knife was cheaply made, still had heat treat scale on it, felt like sand in the pivot, rattle constantly and everything else you could hate in a knife.

So I fixed all that :D.

I gave it new handles made of bocote.

Polished the pivot area so it moved smoothly and made the handle a much better size.

I left the blade shape alone but re-centered the edge and put a tip back on it as it was very blunt.

In all, the whole project including the blade was about $25 (bocote handle scales were $4.99 the knife was about $15.00 and stop pins and what-not about another $5.00)

I would highly recommend this project to someone looking for a nice little pimp job.

Where did you get the handles from? That looks so much better than the original! I bought mine with the ugly black synthetic handles. Bad choice.
