SW Icepick

thanks mike. i checkout out the sepc ops oe.. i think they are like 34.95 to be exact. oh yea and according to the store, i think they have some chopweiler in.

Cool! I will have a couple land at the store just to see what happens. :) I'm thinking of going back to doing special sheaths for the store, not just those simple ones. The swamp deserves special stuff! :D

leatherHOG, make mine a dangler with a piggyback Shaker II pouch, fire starter loop and an X thingy on the back. Chocolate brown of course. And if you want to carve me the older Swamp Rat logo on there feel free. :D:thumbup:

Actually I would love to have some like that in the store, some wild sheaths, some with additional pouches, etc.

:D:D

I'd love something like that for my new 'chopweiler'.

Great minds think alike, ieraseu. Chopweiler all the way.

Hey leatherhog, throw in a Dundee rig while you're at it. Shouldn't take you too long. Two weeks is just about Christmas.:p

....still waiting on the RIP to get here... :( i thought it would be here today but it didnt come.

You realize you ordered Sunday night, so they wouldn't even have processed it till Monday and you are upset that it isn't to you by Wednesday?

You have heard the "2 week Rule" haven't you?

Perhaps you should see the track and confirm note i got from the USPS. As of 0136 this morning (Wednesday), the package was in Knoxville, TN. I live one hour and a half from there. Think about it. It SHOULD be here tomorrow.

You obviously don't work for the post office. :p

It IS also the Holiday season.......the postal system is more backed up than Elvis's colon! You should be thrilled it made it that far by now.

:D:D

Boy Howdy I opened up a big ol can o worms huh! :D Reminds me of the HOSS days, now that was work!

Lemme see what I can come up with, I betcha I can wrangle some interesting stuff up for y'all. Multi carry, pouches, danglers, etc. Might have to do one of those folded pouches like Randall used to have on his stuff, less wet molding and it works just as well. :) This is going to be fun!

Reconseed, like Gravelface said, this time of year the mail is painfully slow, I rely on it for my livelihood and its always a pita during the holidays. :grumpy:

hahaha. Yea you are right.... I guess I am just used to getting it the same day the USPS site says Knoxville receives my packages. Oh well. Merry Christmas.

Leatherman, perhaps you can answer my question regarding the RIP. How do most people carry or transport the RIP? Forgive my ignorance, but is this something that you just throw in the toolbox or is it something that people get sheaths made for, to store them in, etc. ??? If its something you would sheath, do you have a swamp rat pick to make a sheath out of? If so, I would be interested. Thanks again.

well, i was right... this morning at 10:12am according to the USPS track/confirm sight, my swamp rat icepick was waiting on me in my mailbox. i love the finish on it. this is my first SR product and it wont be my last! thats for sure! the pick actually isnt as sharp as i thought it would be. i can tell that this was designed for some heavy heavy usage, under which all other picks would probably fail. hats off to Eric and the guys for making a neat, tough product. now i just need to get one of those cool tie-things that some of you guys have running through the hole on the handle end of the RIP. i need to check the shack and see if Eric has any of em in stock still. all in all, i am very pleased with this piece. now i gotta find some ice to try it out on! :)

CongRats! :)

I've done a few different types of sheaths for the Rat Pick, but overall for me it sits in wait for an ice chest. When I need it to chip away the ice to get to the good stuff. :D I betcha a good pocket sheath would be ideal.

leatherman, can you make another pocket sheath for the RIP? or do you have any that i can buy off of you? i tried putting the thing in my pocket this afternoon when i went out to my bike to check my frame sliders and the thing nearly went through my jeans when i bent down:eek: the rip is pointer than you think! so i need a way to carry this bad boy from the desk to the field.
