Swallowing smokeless tobacco juice?

I know an old timer that used to swallow dip juice. He said he almost always swallowed it. He also had to have his stomach removed, apparently he attributes it to that because I guess he had some really bad ulcers.

I ahve been chewin for 20+ years. Started out as an alternative to pipe smooking which many offices prohibited. I am 68 years old and going strong.
Never felt the need to spit. You don't spit when you are chewing gum do you?

My father ended up with throat cancer 20-25 years ago. He said that the first question the docs always asked him is if he chewed or smoked a pipe. (He didn't do either, but he did smoke, Pall Malls.) He quit, and got radiation treatments, and lived until 2000.

One reason that I told my daughter and my son, if I EVER catch them smoking, I'd put 'em through a wall.

I've met 2 guys over my 25 years with the company that swallow the tobacco spittle instead of spitting. I don't know how they do it without getting sick. I guess it's conditioning.

Funny story about my brother-in-law. He smoked for 25 plus years, quit and took up leaf. He used plastic Coca-cola bottles to spit in, so as a result, he would normally have one in the car and at his business. One day ... he left a full bottle of spit on top of the coke machine. Yeah ..., you can see this coming :barf: ... One of his employees asked him for the Coke that was left out on top of the machine. He said yes .... The guy apparently only took one swig.. :barf: :barf: :barf:

I quit chewing after 40 plus years. Blood pressure went down but have to keep a sharp eye on the food intake. If you use tobacco...stop. It will save your life.
