One of my favorite shows on tv to watch now days is swamp people on the history channel. One thing I have noticed more and more watching it is that I have seen a couple of the people on the show carrying Kabars. I thought it was a pretty interesting choice and the ones Ive seen seem well used and taken care of. Anyone else noticed.

Yes, I hear the company may change it's name to Ka-Gator. ;) Not quite the same ring though. :D
Anyone have screen shots?

i havent seen the ka-bars, but i have seen one of the guys on the show using a buck 110 to stab a gator and make a hole for a tag:)

What surprised me was seeing most of them killing gators that are up up to a 1,000 lb. and more with a .22 rim-fire.

ya man, i used to live in louisiana, had friends (family friends) that would kill them with .22s, though sometimes if they didn't hit the kill spot, it would knock them out
in which case, they took a hose clamp to it mouth and let it loose in the house during his younger sister's sleepover party (many years ago, 5 or 6 ft gator)

anyways, the new guy that is an awesome shot with a pistol, on for one show i think, had one on his hip i do believe, never saw it used though

Ga-Bar!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHAAAAA!!!! Now there's Diet Coke all over my screen!!! That's damn funny!! Quick wits, JayHawk.

The small calibers bounce around in the skull and don't make much noise ;)

That lie is perpetuated by millions of people. Don't know where it came from, probably a movie.

Lead doesn't do much bouncing. ;)

ETA: small calibers are used because they are cheap, and do the least damage possible to the carcass.

there was a scene that they showed a guy grabbing gators at night, well the intro to this scene had him sitting on the porch sharpening his knife on a ceramic rod, i thought it was a ka bar
