I've enjoyed browsing through the forum, checking out all the pics of different enviroments. Though I'd share a few of my neck of the woods. These were taken within a 10 mile radius of our family camp in Northwest Florida. There is plenty of area to stomp around. The lake area is 8,000 acres, downstream you have public access to 83,000 acres of public WMA, including a 15 square mile island. On the other side of the river is the almost 600,000 acre national forest. Good camping, fishing and hunting. A little bit of what Florida used to be, before the condos and Mickey Mouse.

They're Cypress knees, HD. These two were taken the same day, a good day in the woods when you can fish and hunt successfully. And a couple more critters.

Beautiful area, and great pics. Looks like you have been here a while. Keep em' coming.:thumbup:

Man I wish I was there catching catfish. My favorite fish to catch and eat.

something to ponder ? how do the slider/painted turtles get up on top of those pointy stumps ? Excellent pics !!

hey fishshooter... nice to see you here....

great pics man.... i've never been to the swamp before...

Neither me. Cypress knees? Interesting.

Is that a 335 Marlin? I have one in .35

Cypress knees allow the roots to get oxygen, which allows the trees to grow in the water.

Neato pics.

Where are you from?? Them remind me of Louisianna.

Tex, it's a Barbour's map turtle, they are specific to this river system. It must be pretty difficult for them to climb and balance, they don't leave their perch unless you about run into them.
Mike, how's the knee ? Whenever you get ready to bring your bow down, let me know.
HD, it's a 336 in .35. It was a gift from the fella that used to own the camp, before he passed.

Wow, great pics! Looks like you have some fun land around there, not too sure about gators though

Your neck of the woods is really cool. Gotta love those lever actions. I don't know much about the swamps but they look like a diverse eco system.

Great pictures.
My wife is from the Gainesville area and I love to spend time there. Sure beats the view in Central IL!
