Proof of life.

Finish on mine is fine. If it isn’t, then the marks are too fine for me to see or care. Take a look yourself and compare. That should be a high enough resolution. Beautiful knife in every way, IMO.

The finish on your knife looks a lot better than mines. I think I just get a one off. I’m glad you like yours.

I'd say use the **** out of it, and enjoy it. They really are meant to be used, and used hard. Garth, or someone, may answer your question above (when he has time; the other thread tells how much he has going on right now). I've gotten "one-offs" as well, although seldom. I just use them, and soon they've been used enough that I can't tell anymore. And the imperfections have never impeded their abilities.
I will admit it is disappointing if you purchase one as a show-piece and there are imperfections, though.

Yeah, I can still see the milling lines under the stonewashed finish. It also has light scratches near the top.

Hi Garth Reckner Garth Reckner Jerry Busse Jerry Busse ,is that normal for a stonewashed finish or did I receive a one off?

***Not an Busse Employe ***

Stone-wash and Comp finish can have mill marks and light scratches on them.

There was a satin finish option

saddle tramp listing

The Satin finish is a custom finish that added 41.00 to the cost. (so far seems like stonewashed w/maroon scales)

All the pics so far of the stone washed I can see milling marks.

Damn, I didn’t know about the Garth situation. Thanks for letting me know. Yeah, it’s a little disappointing. It has been a while since I’ve owned a busse.

I understand it might have some milling marks, but it looks pretty bad. I wish I could have taken a better picture.

I would reach out Monday
the pic you posted a link to does not look bad ?
But it is only the one pic

Did anyone get any other handle scales other than Maroon canvas ?

Also sure seems like Linen rather than the normal canvas to me.

another pic :)

Hard to say (linen vs. canvas). It sure is fine, but I don’t know that it is remarkably different than the maroon canvas on my HOG Badger. I think it was HOG Badger? Several years ago, smooth scales? Anyway, that is the only knife other than this one that has smooth maroon scales, and I hadn’t thought to compare the two.
