swamp rat folders

Unfortunately, I don't own an Emerson to compare.

However, I am extremely impressed by this knife. Locks up solid with no wiggle, yet it opens and closes extremely smooth and swift. It is a large blade that almost disappears in your pocket. When opened, it is the size of a Howling Rat.

For me it's the perfect folder.

Hope this helps. :D

Ther are cheaper blades out ther, but none with SRKW's quality. I've progressed from Case, to Cold Steel, to Spyderco, to Bench MAde, to Swamp Rat and Busse. I've yet to find better knives or better people to deal with. At Knob Creek, I sold two very good BMs to get my Rat Trap. Not a bit sorry to get the better quality of the Rat.

Hope you can enjoy the Rats as much as I do.

Just got a Rat Trap from a trade myself... 360joules is dead on, this thing carries like it's just not there... Love the low-riding clip, too. Handles are slim but with no flex, and the lockup is solid; no play can be induced. My only quibble is that the linerlock seems a bit thin... I'm not saying it's badly fitted or feels weak (quite the contrary) but I would have expected it to be thicker.

Now I want a smaller version. :D

No wiggle, and no flex, eh? Sounds like it's worth twice what they're asking for it.

I have this terrible feeling that I'm going to end up buying one for just about everyone I know. Damn.
