Swapping Strider blades?

I want to swap blades on a couple of my SMF's. Strider told me I would ruin the lockup so not going to try until I get more info. Do any of you guys know anything on this? Has anyone taken apart an smf and put it back together?
 
i would listen to them. the lockup for each knife could be quite different and there is a chance it could not lock up enough. you might get lucky and have it work but why take the chance of the lock failing.
