Here's a thought.
I'd like to compile a list
Of
HOG AND HOGGETTES
that would like to see

SWATmandu!

As a REGULAR Busse Combat offering.

What say you?

OINK!

That is correct ^^^^^Rats to the Swamp...

I want a Rodent 6 and Rucki in INFI also. .....that SwatMandu is awesome by the way timmy

It's a Rat with a face lift and Lipstick...Add a Talon hole and Fuller to the RMD....Voila...SMD:rolleyes:

To each their own... I still want several more for right around $300 to my door.......

Just sayin'

They took one of my all time favorites from the swamp and dressed it up....its going to be a great user for any special team operator!

Look at all the different "Du's....RMD...Beefmandu..INFIdu..Swat..man..du...Great platform from the Swamp!!

Can't speak for dericdesmond but my first thought: Utility size = edge holding more important than toughness.

I tend to like that line of thought too but I don't think the practical difference between INFI and SR101 in edge retention is going to be felt here.

There's also the side that INFI is going to be easier to sharpen in a pinch. I'd tend towards a knife that would be easy to sharpen over a knife that would hold the edge a little longer in a long term use predicament especially in the wilderness or something where specialized sharpening tools might not be available.

Honestly either is a really fantastic knife!

I've heard that, but other folk are not happy with uncoated SR101 for corrosion resistance. Your thoughts?

Oh hell no. And you can't trust the coating to protect under hard use. That = uncoated super stainless or INFI all the way. Well, unless visual signature is a concern. That's the view from here.

Right. I can't stand uncoated SR101. It is just too humid here. Back when I lived in arid central California, uncoated SR101 would be perfect for my purposes. Now, easy maintenance is preferred.

I bet that if say ASH-1 was to go to be made with Swamp logo and in SR-101 folks here would go ballistic.
Just like ASH, SH, BM, TG (....) are icons of Busse, RMD is a Swamp icon and regardless of materials it should stay a Swamp offering.

That's interesting. There are many folk who claim that SR101 has better edgeholding for them, but I don't recall people saying that INFI is that much easier to sharpen than SR101 that it would matter.

I feel ya, bro; it's just that the talon hole on the SWATMandu makes it a Busse. And I wish that I had bought one. :grumpy:

Interesting -- what's the reason?

In my limited experience sr101 just seems to stay sharper longer for general utility cutting purposes. I too love sr101 in larger apps, esp a thinner stocked blade like the 1311, but overall when it comes to more aggressive tasks Infi all the way. As for uncoated sr101, I love it for a user and expect it to look ugly real quick. Safe queen no thx : p

I'd like to see Busse offer a beefSWATmandu same design as the SWATmandu with a 6, 6.25 or even a 7 inch blade at maybe .22 .25 thickness. That would be perfection for me.
