SWAT Prototype

That's a great design.
Looking it over several times, the only thing that I could see changing would be the pommel. maybe a "skull crusher" (as they call them) or more of a point to break glass...etc.
may also look good with g/10 bolsters?
Nice knife!

I thought about the skull crusher but decided to make it comfy if you ever need to shove it into something with the heel of the hand. It will still pop out a window the way it is.

It would look good with bolsters but they arent needed and will complicate the construction and raise the price also.

thanks for the discussion, keep em coming

Hey Bruce, Very good lookin design... I dont think I would change anything on the knife until you get some feed back from the new owner. My question is on the kydex, is he going to carry it down low like in the pic? All of the kydex that I have made the belt loop is to high and the handles stick me in the ribs, this makes it very unuser friendly. Plus if you had to pull it fast... well thats not going to happen.

That may be the finest looking "do it all" knives I've seen. If he doesn't complain about the weight I wouldn't change a thing. A few ounces here and there won't be a bad thing if he ever needs to use it for things a knife isn't designed for.
Great design wonderfully done!

Thankyou guys for the swollen head! Feels good to make something people approve of. I had this same knife on the Practical Tactical forum for input. They think its good too but want a smaller size for easy carry so I'm thinking maybe make a belt and vest size.

OK then,

I want to have some waterjet and decided to offer a smaller size also just like it in thinner steel.

The pierced guards and pommel will be ovaled slightly and the tang will have window cutouts (skelontized) that will still leave enough tang for extra-ordinary abuse without worry about breaking.

The scales are held on with four 4-40 torx into a threaded stainless pins. Some guys prefer a cord wrap handle and they can wrap one on if they like in place of the scales.

The kydex sheath will be similar and have a universal mounting plate for a tec-lock or old school lashing. It will be available without a sheath also.
