You guys and gals are totally to blame for this one. I've read so many comments on this forum praising the virtues of the Sway Back that I just had to try one. This just arrived.

I'm quite impressed. I think this is my first knife with a Wharncliffe main blade.

I had an opportunity to get a single-blade ebony version but I went with this. Kinda kicking myself, but hey! Next time.

The Sway Back Jack is a great pattern. I have this one and its a definitely a favorite and sees tons of pocket time. Nice new addition you have there.

Wow, nice knives. I think a sway back is going to be my next purchase.

I carried one for a year and it did everything i wanted it to do. I really liked the wharncliffe blade and later bought a GEC48 with a wharncliffe

Nice blue bone on your Swayback! It looks great
They are a sweet knife, here's a shot of mine:

sadly, mine is gone for good...had it with me on the beach flying kites about a month back, when I went into my pocket for it that evening...no knife. I only hope that some lucky beach comber on Pea Island maybe found it and has a nice knife now. Enjoy that beautiful cutter :)

I have yet to acquire a Sway Back knife yet. I have one in mind but have not allocated funds to it just yet. Now that the topic is brought to light let me just ask this one question. Do you any of you find that when using a Sway Back (with a secondary blade) with hard usage inhibits hot spots since most of the time the secondary blade is protruding from the handle?

@OP What a fantastic looking knife. If you purchased that from a BF approved site do you mind sharing with me where you got it from? The covers are exquisite. Are the covers bone, delrin or celluloid?

addylo great looking knife. Yours is the first I've seen with that color handle. I sold mine in a weak moment and wish I hadn't.

digitalurbancamo I don't recall hot spots on it but I never used it for hard usage either.

Digital, this was bought from a reputable dealer at that big auction site. It's called Pacific Blue Bone.

I'm liking it and may have to get me a few more. I'll especially be on the look out for one in Ebony.

Here's my edc, T.Bose 3 5/8" ivory SBJ. I have carried this knife practically every day since I received it on 12-25-07. I have carried the Case SBJs on occasion and they are very true to this knife that they are patterned after. It's one of their best made knives and it's a hot seller.

I've had mine for several months now and really enjoy it. It is a fairly small knife, which makes it easy to carry. Great blade shape and excellent fit and finish. I really like the unique bone colours posted.

My Swayback Jack in Chestnut bone with CV steel when it was newer, it has more patina now.

Oh yeah ~~~~~ love me Case Swayback Jacks & Gents to the extreme as I have way to many and every time I open the Safe they are in I have to step back and go see if any new ones have come out and if so I am gone to get another one.!!
It is an addiction that I just can't get away from {and if you know the Jacks & Gents they always have a new one or two new ones that need a good home to go to.!! }

That's a great looking pattern there. Ya know, I was never one for some of these dyed bone colors that are out there, but I am seeing that if done with the right knife, they end up looking amazing!

That looks great, addylo! Were I not inflicted with this knife disease, I could easily get by with my SBJ for just about everything.

digitalurbancamo: while whittling is hardly 'hard use,' I've whittled quite a bit with my SBJ and have found it to be pretty comfortable, maybe more than a similar stockman or standard folder. The blade nests in the handle nicely.

Just an FYI, but it appears that the Case Swayback Jack in CV is discontinued. And supplies are dwindling. I have one and it is one of the best knives I own. I'm saddened it seems to have gone away...
