Sway Back Jack

Just an FYI, but it appears that the Case Swayback Jack in CV is discontinued. And supplies are dwindling. I have one and it is one of the best knives I own. I'm saddened it seems to have gone away...

I've noticed this, I've been trying to track one down for months, I can't find any sources that have them in stock and ship internationally. :grumpy:

Here's my edc, T.Bose 3 5/8" ivory SBJ. I have carried this knife practically every day since I received it on 12-25-07. I have carried the Case SBJs on occasion and they are very true to this knife that they are patterned after. It's one of their best made knives and it's a hot seller.

Kerry - that "real deal" you have carried for so long is fantastic. Tony can make a knife like no other.

Thank you for making me drool a bit. ;)

I have eight of the Case Swaybacks. This might be my favorite - a Case Select and shieldless:

I agree - they are very well made for a production knife and carry well in a watch pocket. :)

I would really be happy if they came out with a SBJ for the annual collaboration knife.

P.S. - I also admire your creations!:)

I have yet to acquire a Sway Back knife yet. I have one in mind but have not allocated funds to it just yet. Now that the topic is brought to light let me just ask this one question. Do you any of you find that when using a Sway Back (with a secondary blade) with hard usage inhibits hot spots since most of the time the secondary blade is protruding from the handle?

@OP What a fantastic looking knife. If you purchased that from a BF approved site do you mind sharing with me where you got it from? The covers are exquisite. Are the covers bone, delrin or celluloid?
I have one that I have carried & used quite often & find it's as comfortable in my hand as my mini trapper which I use everyday

I love my sbj but wish I had a sway back gent because of how much thinner it would be.

Nice Deep Canyon bone and I have both the gents and jacks, but, prefer the jacks by just a bit.

You know what they say . . . . the grass is always greener . . . . ;):D

Oh man! What a beaut! That mamoth bone just seals the deal, what a beauty. ATS34? 154cm? I had a Case SBJ and SBG, both great knives, but sold/traded them. I had some trade fodder a couple months ago at a knife shop, and picked up another SBJ. I just got a Viper in the mail the other day. Great knives, and I have gotten used to the wharncliff blade after carrying modified wharncliffes, like my UNK, Tribal Spear and Insingo. Oh yeah, the ebony SBG was a SFO, SS and ebony, if I could get one with CV blades, I would go for it. I think they're all SS. The SBJ I have now is CV and chestnut bone.

Actually, it's not mammoth bone. It's pachyderm tooth.

Just took delivery of my 2nd SBJ in CV. I traded the first last year and have always wanted another. When I started looking again last week I went into panic mode as they are discontinued and sold out everywhere! Finally found one and it's in my pocket to stay.

Have CASE taken leave of their senses?? Or just put it in the vault?

It's a knife that has won a lot of praise and is very well finished indeed, I'm sure it must have been a big seller. Is it the cv models or are all versions now discontinued, anybody in the know?

I had a Chestnut Bone cv one but I gave it away, I kept the stainless in Bermuda Green and like that too. Comfort knives!

Very suprising move. I would have thought the cv swayback would have been one of the most consistant sellers for case. Maybe us knife nuts really are a miniscule market share :(

Oh man, I didn't know the Chestnut CV was discontinued. After receiving the Pacific Blue that started this thread and loving it so much I had figured I'd eventually pick up a CV version. I guess now is the time.

Maybe just a break in production? I called around to a few Mom & Pop shops because their online store said "in stock". In both cases they were out and told me they were indeed hot sellers. I've had quite a few modern Case knives and these are some of the best.
