Swayback from wayback

I'm late to this party, but I'll add my two bits. That is a really great find. And I second the big NO to cleaning it. I have made that mistake in the past, and then later regretted it. Once the patina is gone, it will never be the same.

Great find. I would have been all over that.:thumbup:

edited to add: goldurnit... how come I never find anything like that...grumble grumble whine....:D

So you're saying there was atime when you didn't :D

Thanks, Mark and lambertiana

Yes Sir, it's a pocket knife, not a Walnut box with a glass lid lined with red velvet knife

Yes I've been swooped up a time or two. Some of those angles sure know how to sing...

I picked this one up at Wannamacher yesterday.

IXL from 1890 to 1930 but more than likley before WW1 according to the old dawg.
The blades have been cleaned, but I had to have it anyway, you don't say no when a knife calls you.

Fabulous stag with that 'Christmas Pudding' look that only old Sheffield knives have, ask smiling-knife for confirmation!

This is the pattern we need for the 09 Forum Knife........

You're killing me here.......................

Wostenholm is one of my all time favorite makers.

What an awesome knife..................

Keep Care,

Pappy

As usual, I'm late to the party. That is a very beautiful knife. IMO, 1890-1914 seems most appropriate as an estimated time of manufacture. The font style, long nick on the master and rounded pen tang are consistent with that era. Love the stag and rat tail bolsters.
