Sweatpants (or similiar), what do you carry?

Im not intending this as some sort of "what's your EDC" variant thread.
For those who wear something loose (no belt, no 'tight' pockets and perhaps no clips) on daily basis: what do you carry? It's quite obvious that something like slipjoint works best, but what about locking blades? What's the biggest blade you carry?

Im interested to hear since I have recently started wearing something more laidback rather than the same jeans all the time. Biggest complaint I have though, is the locks with having loose knife in pocket; pretty much everything liner/framelock is no go. :/

Well I don't wear sweat pants or any pants without a belt but why not clip the knife to the waistband?

I've put my spydie military in my pocket before. I did have to flip it over on it's spine, tip up so the blade wouldn't come out.

I carry the same thing that I carry in jeans or shorts. If you clip it IWB you can carry just about any folding knife with a clip. I clip my knives at the one o'clock position and hardly feel them there. Lately it has been either my S90V Manix 2 or Para 2.

I might be bit paranoid, but I always like to keep liner and framelocks tip up, leaning to the end of the pocket.. I wouldn't like reproduction organ severation accident.

I've never had a folder open in my pocket, but why not just clip it to your waist band? All of my clothes have pockets so it's a non-issue for me (have to have a place to put my gun).

The only clothes I have that I don't wear a belt with are swim trunks and sport shorts. I just clip it in my waistband or in the pocket if they have pockets. Other than that, I always have on jeans, khakis, or cargo pants/shorts.

Issue is not about pockets, but the loose knife and Im not really that comfortable with waistband carry either.
I think I will stick with lockbacks.. I like them anyway, just limits the choices. :)

Spyderco Native
Lockback, S30V steel, great ergos, around $50, very light at under 4 ounces.

If your problem is blade retention then there are probably a lot of knives off all different types that would work just fine. Some liner locks and frame locks have blade retention that is pretty strong, some don't.
In my experience the axis lock also had great blade retention so you might look at a Benchmade.

I'm no fashion show, but I simply can't bring myself to wear sweatpants. The closest might be when I go running in shorts. At those times, I wear a neck knife (usually a Swamp Warden) or clip an Endura 4 Wave into the waistband along with a .380.

Have you considered a neck knife? No clips to worry about and no locking mech. to worry about.

I have some shorts that are made of sweatpant-type material. They have pockets like sweatpants and I wear them to the gym every morning. I carry a minigrip w/ a lanyard in them. The grip is really light and an awesome knife. I don't think I like to carry any other knife when I'm wearing those shorts.

I carry my Delica IWB when wearing athletic shorts or sweatpants; lightweight, thin, and still tough enough to handle almost anything:thumbup:

I too prefer lockbacks for IWB carry, wont do AO either.

I carry an A G Russell Feather-Lite folder when I dont have one of my knives with a clip. It is very light weight and is a nice size knife but thin. Kevin :D

Thanks for the replies guys. I have many kind of knives in consideration, but no need to advice anymore. :) I was just curious if anyone carries.
I don't usually wear sweat or collegepants, but these are the kind of fancy street ones. :D

This may not appeal to you but just put a rubber band around the knife. Cheap simple and effective, and you shouldn't have any problems with the blade opening.

Lately when I go bike riding, I have been clipping a para 2 in my waistband (shorts).
