Sweaty hands

I was talking to one of my higher ups today about the problem (he's a knife enthusiast too) and he let me borrow one of his delica 4's and I didn't really have the problem as bad. plus they're a great knife

the main problems I have is sliding while Im USING the knife (very bad problem) and if the handle isnt grippy when I'm opening the blade knife will wiggle in my hands and I've cut myself several times doing this

I love my victorinox soldier but good god does it slide in my hand. On days I know I'll be using it I almost have to carry a rag to wipe my hands off with before I open it. I don't really have this problem with the leatherman's I have because I wear gloves when I'm welding so there's the grip from the gloves

:grumpy: My problem is that I have habitually oily hands and it stains my micarta handles. All of my ESEE/RAT knives have micarta handles, except my special RAT Pack knife, and they look nasty, even if they haven't been used.:grumpy:

Just take care you don't injure yourself, Ok?

yeah, that doesn't sound like the best testing method....

"Well, that one failed. Honey, can you take me to the ER?" :D

But to contribute to the thread, In my experience, the Spyderco Military is great when wet, the handle shape and G10 really help you keep your grip. It's also an awesome knife.

Both texture of the handle (aggressive Spyderco G-10 is recommended) and the ergo of the handle play important roles.

Be safe.

ZT 0500 mudd knife for extreme muddy situation. I've a very sweaty hand. This one gives me the best grip. PERIOD!:D:thumbup:

I love my sak but do not think they are "safe" knives.
Maybe the alox have some extra grip but there are no finger grooves/grip or choils that give protection. So i would say SAK are for light duty only if you want safety.

I think a knife with choil is the best choice for you.
If you want a little knife the frn ukpk would be nice. Great grippy frn and good finger choils. Youre hand wont slip. But no lock.

I have had a cf native that was very slippery for me. I sold it because of this but the knife was still safe enough to use for me because of the good ergonomics and finger choil.

Delica's have no finger choil but are grippy enough. There are lots of knives to consider if i only mention spyderco.
Para and military would also be good choices.

But if you want really big and strong i still have to name (again ;)) the zt200. Safe, grippy and very good ergonomics.

Yeh I had a RAT but sold it because of the handle staining deal. That's linen/canvas? micarta for you. Paper micarta on the other hand will not absorb hardly at all, much different.
