When its driving you nuts (as it should, aliasing is terrible), try reducing the sensitivity of your mouse. I have a "fancy" mouse, where I can change the sensitivity on the mouse at any time, and when I'm doing close up work, I slow it WAY down.
If you have a normal mouse, you can still do it, just change it in the OS settings.
