• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I can't seem to find what the diameter of these are anywhere. Is the army model 3/8" around? Also, does the plastic part at the end come off easily?

You can order the 3/8th online and the plastic end will come off with a little tug with some pliers and a vise. The Army model is teh 3/8 version..the scout is 1/4 ...IIRC....Gene

The plastic didn't pull off easily on mine. I laid mine down on a bar of trioxane, lit it up, and melted the plastic handle off.

A couple more questions if you don't mind :).
When the plastic is removed, is there still a hole in the firesteel for running chord through? And does the 3/8" version fit inside the bark river loops on the sheaths? I have the aurora and the sheath has the firesteel holder and I just want to make sure it fits inside of it before purchasing.

BRK&T custom fire steels are the same Dia. as the Swedish Army light my fire firesteels and will fit the loops
