I got this blade a while back from the Swedish knifemaker Seved Hjelm. I finally got around to finishing it. The scales are ipe (Brazilian walnut) with white liners and some mosaic pins.

It is close in size and shape to my F1 and unfinished Koster bushcraft. Seved actually made this blade before the Koster blades were introduced. It is thicker than the F1 and has sort of a modified scandi grind with a convex edge.

Seved makes some great scandis and also some nessmuks and other blades.

I have a pukko from Seved also. It's stainless and hollow ground.

Mine I'd class as more of a hunting knife than a bushcraft knife cause the handle is thin and the hollow grind.

Nice job on the scales. Very good take from the maker on a Woodcraft knife.

nice job on that!

I run into few people using ipe - what's your strategy on gluing up and finishing? Most of mine are fairly basic, though there are tricks to the heavy oils in the wood and tendency to split if unsealed.

Don't shape it on a belt sander and the oils stay put. Never heard of it splitting before. It's mostly used for decks so I think that might be disinformation..

The similarities end with looks.

The Blind Horse is 5/32" D2, hollow ground with 3 3/4" sharpened edge.

This one is 3/16" 5160, convexed with 4" sharpened edge.

To me, it looks nothing like the Work Horse, except, of course, that all fixed blades have a blade extending out from a handle. Then, it looks like a hundred others.
