Here's the deal on this one. Had it sitting in a Bill's case since I bought it many years ago. It was always one of James most appealing medium sized knives to me.
The knife was never used, but it apparently had been dropped, the very tip got slightly bent/dinged. I gently filed off the tiny part sticking to one side, but it's not perfect, it's a bit rounded. The good news is twofold.
1) Instead of $600, it'll be a real bargain.
2) You can make it a user guilt free!
Blade is 4". The grinds are flawless. Blade is razor sharp. The resin soaked cord/ray skin handle is just incredible, and the rich, brown stingray skin goes perfectly. And, the Menuki is a colorful gem Opal. Few can match James' handle and cord wrapping skills. The quality of his handles is way, WAY up there.
A shame about the tip, but it'll be cheap, a guilt free user, and any decent knife maker could easily fix the tip if desired.
First to email me with a firm I'll take it gets this sweet custom JSP for SPF!!! shipped priority. I'd be surprised if a knife maker would charge more than $50 to touch up the tip. And even then, it would still be about $150-$200 less than this knife should fetch.
My email is ari@thefossilgallery.com
I need a US postal money order as payment on this one, as I'm trying to save a little "momma don't know" money
for a gift for our 10th anniversary.
Of course you can return it if not happy. The price includes priority shipping, with signature confirmation. If you know about the tip damage, which you do, you'll love the rest.
