Dear all,
The ''Puffin'' is a little every day carry knife, designed to help in the kitchen, at work or for a day walk in the outdoors...
The hendle is very ergonomic and fits all size hands. It has paracord and matching bead to complete the handle.

Oal: Metric: 145 mm/ 45 mm/ 3.2 mm. Blade - 60 mm
Oal: Imperial: 5.7'', 1.8'', Blade - 2.4''
Weight: 112 g./ 200 g. with the sheath

- Steel is K110. Heattreated by me with liquid nitrogen at 65 Hrc. The blade has extreme cutting edge retention
- Handle material is orange resin with black alcohol ink mixed and green G10 spacer
- Leather sheath for horizontal belt carry with nice orange stiching
- Matching paracord and bead

Nice little fellow. I really like your 3fingers designs :-)
I thought K110 was pretty much like D2. I'm no metallurgist (not even close) but 65rc sounds quite high for D2.
 
K110 is a D2 equivalent, made by the Austrian company Boehler. I buy it directly from them and like it better than the standard D2. 65 Rocwell hardness is achieved by keeping the blade in liquid nitrogen for around 24 hours. This converts a big part of the residual austenite to martensite and gives a higher hardness number. I tested this steel (Same hardness 65Hrc) to chop brass, bone and wood and still shaves and cuts paper after that. This little blade will not be used for hard chopping, i bet, so this hardness will not be an issue

Oh I believed you! I was just just curious about the relative toughness of D2 with such high hardness. As you said, according to your tests, not a concern what so ever. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
