Just scored a baldor 3ph 1/3hp C face and reduction drive for $54 out the door! I have been planning on a motor conversion for my bandsaw to get it down to metal cutting speed since I bought it a couple months ago. THis bandsaw SFPM calculator is pretty awesome.

The conversion has an output of 138rpm so with my planned setup my max SFPM will be 132. All I have to do is get a 9" pulley for up top and get rid of the middle idler pulley. When I get everything rigged up I will post again. I was looking at inline reduction, but that involved more belts. With this setup I only need one belt. Going to buy a bigger motor, those C face motors are going for pretty cheap. The reduction is rated for 3/4. When it's all said and done I should be spun up even with the other motor for under a hundred. That is awesome considering most of the reductions in teh size I needed started around $90 not including power.
Only fabrication I have to do is make a plate with mount holes and motor holes since the holes probably will not line up. Heh, I got it ALL figured out!
