Swimming Pool Green G11?

These are two of my Gen 2 3.5" XM-18s, both have translucent scales, one the standard variety you frequently see and the other the version I was talking about that is quite different.
Wow! That top scale practically is Swimming Pool Green. I'd love to find one just like it. Any idea on its history? Just an earlier version of the current "translucent green"? Perhaps RHK got some slightly different stock one of the first times they ordered "translucent green". By the way, do both of those knives have the usual full Ti liner behind the scale? I know the scale's translucent, but I'm wondering what's behind it that makes it look so different around the screws. Anyway, thanks for taking the elevator down to the level of the vault where these knives live and dragging them out for a photo shoot :)

Yeah, I thought you might like that. I really don't know the history but believe your assumption is similar to mine, maybe Rick remembers or one of the original RHk experts like Rob, Mike or Pete know. Other than the one I have, I haven't seen another one like it although I have to believe they made at least a batch of them, it is definitely authentic RHK as near as I can tell.

Yes, full Ti liner. I think it appears darker surrounding the screws because that is where the screws hold it tighter to the liner, even the standard translucent scale shows evidence of this effect.

Wow Rich! Love the old school LBS on those!

That's one item I wish was on my gen 2. It came with the original scale screws and handle nuts in addition to the current standard screws/nuts, but didn't have the original old LBS on it. Of course, maybe later gen 2's towards the end were switched to smooth LBS's, I'm not sure. Anyway cool gen 2's Rich!
