Hi all

I have some great kydex for my F1 and I'm wanting to put the ESEE fire kit on it in the firesteel loop. Does anyone know if the handle fits or is it too large?

Thanks all

I am going to say its too big to be added to a sheath for, but a small separate sheath that can be attatched to pack webbing or your belt would be ideal.
With it mounted on your belt in front or behind the knife it will not snag on brush and probably won't even be noticed.
Pic and post what you decide on, I have been trying to find an easy way to carry mine.

most likely not unless you specifically asked martin to adjust it. the capsule is almost 1" across so that means the firesteel loop's center needs to be at least 1/2" away from the sheath's body. most firesteel loops i've seen from makers the rod itself is almost touching the sheath.

Yeah... I make mine pretty much touching the sheath itself and use/supply a piece of shock-cord with an end/pull for retention.

Both of these are ESEE-4's with an ESEE-Firekit:

It's a large firesteel for sure but if the loop is made properly you won't notice it's there, picture of it belt-mounted:

I haven't seen other sheaths with them but I get alot of request for it and they've come out really nice. With my Pouch-Sheaths the real beauty is that by the time you've got: Fire, Tinder and Navigation (compass) covered outside of the tin..... there's alot of room left inside the tin for other "stuff".

Hope this helps,

Eli

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Martin told me they don't fit but I'll get one and maybe modify to suit if I can't force the issue.

Eli your sheaths look great

Cheers
