Ha ha yeah, to be fair it was low tide and the tide goes out a very long way. It just didn't impress my nearly five year old son who has only been to Australian beaches and his last memory of the beach is the place pictured belowMy wifeโs family is from Ireland so I had to show her that picโฆโewww look at the beach of your peopleโ
She was not amused lol
Totally correct mateI think that a lot of beaches on the Atlantic look that way in late August and September but it was probably clear of seaweed before that. Sample size of 1 so make of it what you will...

YummmmmmmI think I'll be taking home some extra baggage...around my waist, especially if Nanna keeps feeding me like this
It's still raining
My family and I are being fed well no doubts about it mateYummmmmmm
Yes indeed.Just a quick note of respect.
May our long serving Queen now rest in piece.
Never been to Ireland, or Australia for that matter. My great great maternal grandparents were born in Ireland, but then moved to the UK, but still I'd like to visit. The rain stopped so we headed to the beach, not quite like the white sands in Australia. My son was slightly disappointed, so much seaweed. The local council cleans the seaweed away each morning.
Great places great people, my wife constantly points out that I say gday and share a yarn with complete strangers, i find most people have a good side. I'm flying to England next week just for a day but sadly I can't think of a way of taking the holiday knife.Never been to Ireland, or Australia for that matter. Looks like you're having a good time, with the family, & your SAKs..
I should have clarifiedโฆitโs a bit of an ongoing joke between us. I drink Guinness and she always refers to it as โthe beer of my peopleโ. She jokingly does it with anything that has any sort of an Irish connection.wow
you won't have to worry about a knife for your 50th with that sort of death wish

Thanks mate, it sure is a beaut. An interesting thread, thanks for starting it up. Iโm not a fan of the champ because... well the heft and bulk. But I see how awesome it is. My own use of the tinker has gotten me hooked on saks.
All great plans, we will definitely head to NZ soon enough. I didn't know about the black sand myself. I'm not sure if it's Irish laws or just postal service rules but knives can't be posted to Ireland. But yes sending back home to Australia is a great ideaYou could always bring your lad to our west coast beaches in New Zealand to show him the black sand beaches for something different. Looks like you will need to get a new knife from England, use it for the day, and then post it back to Ireland and bring it back home to Oz![]()
