SwissTech Utili-Key

Had one given to my for Christmas. It the same exact thing as mr. trooper's not long after I got it. Now it's floating around the dashboard of my truck with a bunch of other crap :D

Maybe the heat treat is a bit loosely controlled? I am thinking about getting a new one. I use mine all the time, but using it lightly a while back, the phillips screwdriver shattered.

I had one on my key chain with my car keys.

i had it for about a week. i think I opened all of one box with it. It worked well, but one night i put my keys into the ignition, cranked the ignition to start the car, and heard a little "ping" as something hit the floor.

That something was my swiss key. The latch had snapped off, and it can no longer be affixed to a key ring.

it DOES hav a warranty, and I could send it in and get it replaced, but it seems like a LOT of hassle to go through for a novelty item.

I lost mine almost the same way. The ring part is quite small, and broke.

I think it is a good product, but the tiny Victorinox Classic SD SAK in Alox (no plastic scales) is as compact, not much more expensive, easier to use and seems more capable IMO. It can be carried on a key ring or loose in the pocket. The blade is not too thick, symmetrically ground and has some belly. The scissors are surprisingly useful and the screw driver fits in both slot head and Phillips head screws.

I bought one after seeing Leroy Thompson's review in Combat Handguns.

A well designed and made piece of kit.

I gave one to a friend whom works in extremely high risk environments, yet cannot carry anything which may be percieved as a weapon or that would not survive a body search.

A benefit of this device is that it can be concealed on the body with micropore tape, making it very secure, virtually undetectable, yet easily accessable with one's hands restrained behind the back.

Grip retention is excellent for such a tiny knife whilst the blade forms a practical defence (with the right techniques) for a female untrained in martial arts, whom is expected to be unarmed.

A true 'last resort survival tool!'
