Heres a picture of a Victorinox Swisstool RS taken 20 hours after getting wet 7.5 miles out to sea . By the time I took the photo most of the water had dried . There is absolutely no rust .There is a bit of sand and dirt vissible thats not to be confused with rust . The Swisstool was used to disconnect the steering linkedge after having complete steering failure:eek: and got completely soaked.

Anybody like to throw sea water over a Leatherman and leave it 20 before taking a picture ?

I've never had the pleasure to deal with a Leatherman knife or multitool (but I don't dislike them) because I'm quite a Victorinox enthusiast and if there is something I'm sure of, it's that the steel used by Victorinox is by far the most "abusable" on the market. There are guys (even here on the forum) who have been using the same Vic for decades without caring too much about maintenance and their knife still performs well. In fact, I believe that on small all-around tools like SAK's or Swisstools, Victorinox's steel is just the best choice to assure a lifetime of reliable service.

My EDC is a Leatherman Blast, but I also own a Swisstool (original version) and if I were to go on a boat or anywhere at sea, that's the tool I would take, mainly for the added toughness and corrosion resistance.

Thats pretty good. My LM juice was destroyed by seawater. It made tiny spots of rust, but the spring behind the knife blade snapped in half
