Is it true that the one-piece line will be made out of CPM3V in the future?

The low production A-2 Blades, should have some positive collector value. I just purchased a Project 1, to go with my Project 11, and my out of production tantos. Also have orders in for 3V Projects.

So are the Projects going to be made out of 3V, or is this more of a custom thing?

So after all is it true or not?
CRK please

Let's put it this way 3V is under serious consideration. The change to a different steel has so many logistics to work out. We don't make a change like this and then test it in the market. We try to do our research thoroughly before committing to the change - that is the stage we are in at the moment.

We are planning a whole re-vamp of the one piece range but what, how and when are unknowns at this stage.

Anne, let me be the first to volunteer my services testing the new line. Please, no compensation other than the chance to put any new ideas to the fire is necessary

Oh, the humanity of it all!!

The only problem I see is that I don't think stock thick enough to machine a project one from is made, currently. But I could be wrong...

I hope the 3V testing works out. And, if the Crucible "Stainless 3V" stuff (S30V?) is delivered as advertised (as tough as A2 and holds an edge and resists corrosion w/ D2), that would sell me also.

I have been reluctant to buy one of the one-piece knives in A2 since it only ran Rc55-57. If Chris can find a comfort level with 3V up at ~Rc59-60 (that may be as tough as A2 at Rc55-57, and should hold an edge with D2), I'd buy at least one of the 1-piece models (Probably a Project 1 w/ spearpoint, and perhaps later a Mountaineer I or II).

I'd rather they had an oval shaped handle (but know this means significantly more complex machining to transition from a round screw-in butt-cap to an oval handle and that means $$), but I'll promptly wrap handle with tennis racket grip tape anyway.
