Sword blade

How thick and wide should a blade be? I was thinking about a 1/4 inch thick with a fuller and about 2 inches or less wide. Any thoughts?

What kind of sword? As a general rule I start with 1/4 X 2" stock. As to the finished blade......anywhere from 3/4 wide to 3 1/2 wide, with and without fullers, curved, straight, reflexed, standard and charged from the pool of power!
