and Some Gladius sheaths.

I prefer weak side cross draw too on some of the larger blades - unless it is an AK - Then I like to carry the AK in my pack only because I haven't found a solution I like better

Sorry Man - those little shoulder straps just don't appeal to me, as they have a singular purpose. Theres nothing wrong with mixing it up on the materials and camoing the blade behind a water bottle cover, etc., so we don't upset the sheeples.

Having done some Kendo and SCA Fencing (And Sport Fencing but there is no "Carry" in that) i much prefer drawing from the left waist, though for utility i suppose it may be more in the way than other forms...hmm...

Nice sheaths, Chuddy Bear!! ...Boy, am I glad that you didn't post these pix until after I got my (pre) order in for some sweet KZIILE pants, 'cause that line is about to get really long on Khukri sheath requests, brother... ;)

Love that Gladius rig too!:thumbup::thumbup:

NOBODY be messing with the man with the Waki!

I remember my dad saying if he heard a bump in the night to get the bat....I think I'd rather get the Waki myself!!

Beautiful work, I purchased a couple from you a couple years' back as a gift.

Here are some examples of the old-school way of carrying a gladius. The high belt attachment, with the gladius hilt almost at chest level, looks pretty interesting. Can't speak from experience, though, not quite that old. :)

I'm no expert on how they used the Gladius in combat, but considering the type of warfare back then I have some speculations.

They may have spent a lot of time marching and lined up for battle. So they picked a carry method that was comfortable for walking and didn't worry about drawing the sword quickly. Mostly unsubstantiated guess.

Great work. You made me sheath for my GW and it is awesome. Maybe Jerry can get your Muk bumped to the front of the line. I know I want a sheath for mine from you. And I figure a great many future Muk owners will want the same.

Since this thread has been resurrected, I might as well throw in pix of my KZIILE sheath from Chuddy Bear that I mentioned in my post above...

This sheath is awesome! I'm looking forward to spring, so I can sling that bad boy over a shoulder and take it out for some choppin'.
