sword laws - Canada

I'm wondering if anyone knows what the basics are when it comes to possesion of swords. is it illegal to carry them in public? etc.

Well dont know about canada but im sure it is illegal to carry them in the us. Simply put a sword has no real use beyond a weapon, weapon competitions as in martial arts as a sport or mid evil re enactments and as art. I suppose here in the us you cold probably get some sort of permit that would allow you to carry it to say the local mid evil fair simply because you lived a couple miles away and do not want to drive there. If you mean as per carry in a vehical then i would sy no reason why you could not at the very least carry in a trunk. Just remember to declare it if you ever pulled over and they are already going to search your car.

That's a good question.. Fairly certain that as long as it's on your property, or in a carrying case going directly to a martial arts related place you won't have too many problems.. Out of Sight, Out of Mind.
