Sword Making Tutorials or Makers?

Hi Guys,

I've started getting into sword making, and I've read everything I could find. Close to finishing my first short sword, a 16" blade, and preparing to go for a full length blade. I believe I've got it all down (cross fingers), but I'm sure tutorials or visiting websites of makers who specialize in sword making will help. So, aside from Don Fogg, can you fellas give me some makers who do a lot of swords?

Thanks, guys

Dave

Yeah, google Jake Powning. That guy knocks my socks off.

Thanks MS

Jake is indeed a very talented guy. I also stumbled across Jose de Braga, a guy I've never heard of; he's the guy who made some of the swords for the Highlander movies. One of his swords sold for $20K. As you can image, lots of gold, rubies, etc. Not my thing, but he has some nice designs.

Master Chen as made a few if you want to look at some of his processes.

All I know is that I had to do quite a bit of experimenting to get my geometry/heat treating right on the handful I have made so that it would cut through bone without damage, but yet cut flesh/hide/hair effectively. I have since move away from swords and become more interested in making larger knives that can cut/cleave effectively, yet still be easily carried.
