Swordsmithing on a small scale

Made myself a little birthday gift this morning. A sword from a 5" nail. Heated and hammered the blade flat and with a lot of file and polish work it turned out nicely I think for first try. Will make a good letter opener or scotch drink stirrer.



 
That's pretty cool. Find a small stone and figure out how to make it an Excalibur style letter opener display stand. If I had a desk at work, I'd put it on there.
 
I used to make lots of miniature knives, haven't in a while. I made them to scale with correct materials and methods too. Good start on that one! Next time use an old needle file so it can be hardened and sharpened too. :thumbup:
