Hi All,

I'm looking for a hunting and fishing knife and from my research a Elmax Sykco 460 would fit the bill because the blade shape, handle material and price. How hard are these to find? Were they a one off production? I've put out a WTB add but so far nothing.

Thanks,

Caba

This probably isn't helpful but best bet is to keep an eye on the exchange. I think there is quite a few of them but not too many people sell them because they are so useful and keep such a razors edge. I have two and wouldn't get rid of them because they are my go to hunting and fishing blades. Knife Hunter did have the SYKCO 375 on his website. Same blade just a smidge shorter. You might want to check there. Good luck-

Thanks. It looks like a perfect no frills user. Good new is I just had a member contact me and I have a Sykco 460 on the way from France. Can't wait to put it to use.

Glad you found one, I have been on the lookout for one since Seeing one in Spyderphreaks elk hunting thread

You'll LOVE this blade!!! One of the best "Bird & Trout" knives Busse has ever made!!! Here are the pics Nemesis mentioned to hold you over till yours arrives. ;)

ETA: The wider profile (and same thinness) of the 460 makes it an excellent slicer!

Same. I've been on the lookout for a good hunting/fishing knife from Busse for a while. I had my eyes set on an elmax steak knives but after seeing the elmax 460 I was sold. The thinner edge should work like a treat.

Maybe if we are lucky there will be a res-c/elmax blade in the new scrapyard lineup as well

Those look awesome. Very nice sheath as well.

I hope so. I think they're great value and handles are top notch in terms of function.

I used a SYKCO 375 last fall to field dress and trim out my first deer. Worked great.

Thinking this new one might get the job this year, score from KC

Guy, is that a drop-point variant of the 460?

Here's a group pic those were double cut drop point

I'd seen the clip-point variants before, but not the drop-point. BOTH are pretty sweet!!!

I had the Scrapmax 340 at one point, was a great knife, but I think the 375 & 460 are better. Blade was just a little too short on the 340 for me.

^^^I wants that wardog!

The center knife is bad ass. If you ever want to get rid of that let me know please

No problem I put a note in with it :-) Yeah it's pretty sweet little blade, thanks. I've never used it yet too many others I guess. But I'll put you down for first dibs.

Dobermaniac,

Sorry but the Wardog is going nowhere soon :-) one of my favorite blades !!!

How would the 460 compare to say an Anorexic Basic 4 for example?

I hadn't realized just how many Scrapyards there are in this size range with that style res C handle.
