SYKCO Alpha Regulator & Regulator family photo

My SYKCO Alpha Regulator landed today and it's an awesome piece of hardware as expected.

Feels light for the size and of course the classic Regulator Res-C grip feels like a warm bubble bath in hand (not saying I ever take those). The grind on this one should make it quite handy at just about any task thrown its way.

Here is is pictured by my original Regulator and another, the model escapes me if someone wants to help out ;)

I can’t wait to get mine! What a cool chopper. Thanks for the pic !

Wow! A mini papi for sure!
From the specs I've seen, the Battle Pappy is the same overall length as the AR, but the blade is 0.25" longer. However, the choil on the Pappy is also wider, so the business end of the blade should be pretty much identical between the two. The guard starts a little higher up on the AR, but the handle is also correspondingly longer.

I assume the AR is noticeably lighter without the metal guard, but if the specs are right, it's pretty much a Basic Pappy.

This thing is really nice in the hand...nice forward balance which makes vertical slicing (like camp-kitchen type work) and chopping much more efficient.

It's a beautifully simple and well executed grind all around. I love the blade shape and the lines are really well done and utilitarian while still flowing really smooth...

I had a pretty cool and unexpected surprise in mine...it made me chuckle when I saw it. Nice little twist during the un-boxing...

Really great knife...keep it sell it, or sell others? I really like the multi-purposefulness of this knife design.

Also - as someone pointed out in the "Pappy Pic Post", this thing is legitimately extremely sharp.

Same here. It was a quite nice little surprise! Thank you, Busse.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I swear this is one of the sharpest blades I've unwrapped in a long time. It's so sharp, I'm going to remember it. I beat on my bench and chopped some other pieces of scrap and it will shear paper and pop hairs with no effort. It's almost scary.

What was this suprise? lol mines in custom in all fairness busse and usps had the ar in ireland in 3 days from wauseon did they coat the postman in bacon grease also lol.
The battle pappy was a bit of a grail knife for me but the ar will fit the bill cos im a res c fiend.

If we told you what the surprise is, it wouldn’t be one.
But don’t worry about Irish customs. It’s not a box of condoms. ;-)

I gotta admit this blade may be my favorite yet. Definitely the sharpest knife I own.

I am starting to feel the same way...this is one of the nicer feeling, looking and handling blades I have air-swished in awhile...probably won't be until December before I can get to do some work with it outside of the kitchen, and I already know how sharp it is...it is insanely sharp for such a serious blade. It has a similar appeal as the SHBM, great and timeless design, very versatile, not crazy thick stock, no-nonsense FFG that is sharp!!!
