SYKCO Regulators Sell Out In First 2 Minutes!!!!!!

I find this fascinating. It doesn't seem like Regulators sell terrifically on the XC. At least they didn't when I was unloading my 2 - at cost. Now people are killing themselves to get another in a different color. ????

Jerry is a marketing genius!

I bought my first on the exchange to give as a gift. I got this one because of the flat grind and loss of 1 inch. It made a big difference in appeal because of these two changes. Put up a flat grind reg for $80 and I bet it would sell pretty fast too.

Jerry is an undisputed marketing genius but Dan's change in the design is what did it.

The Ganza offering didn’t have that pronounced Bowie like profile.

I personally liked the rounder profile of the Ganza version as it did a lot of others judging by how fast they went.

Got mine in the first minute - so who knows if I got a Reg ?

Sounds like I got a SLUT, though....

Good luck to all - this was my first and I got mine out the 1st minute - not too shabby for my first Ganza !

This was a crazy Ganza:confused:...I do have to tell a cute story.

So Lexi wanted to do her first ganza (She has been a part of many ganza's) however she wanted to sort and do all of that crazy stuff that I usually do..LOL (She is crazy..but in a good way)

She did a GREAT JOB!!!

but it was cute because of the massive amounts of e-mails and what we had to offer (limited) ...she was so sad.....cause she looked at me with those big puppy dog eyes and said "people are gonna be sad cause they did not get what they wanted"

I just looked at her and sighed....."That is a ganza" and after I told her to uncross her eyes...LOL...I said "We will make alot of people HAPPY"

So all in all a great time...once again THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR EVERYTHING!!!

We will start sending out e-mails Monday...(We are doing some homework this weekend so we can get those e-mails out)

XOXO,
Amy and Lexi:)

:rolleyes:Just keep doing what you do ... be what you are. That alone will make a lot of us happy.:)

Stay safe out there in chilly Ohio.

Lexi, it is all the luck of the Ganzaa, and those of us who've been through a few sure understand that. Amy--must be fun to watch Lexi do her first Ganzaa!

Thanks to you both for everything you do, my sisters!

It's shorter, making it perhaps a more practical field knife (though certainly not as good a chopper). There's also the camo pattern and that the price is less than a full-sized Regulator's. Finally, it's a limited availability military overrun, which is a big plus for the collector -- they have that "Oooo... ahhh... I've never seen one of those before" factor that a large production run just doesn't. I'm a little outside the norm because I collect Bussekin knives rather than use them, but these 6.5-inch Regulators have a lot of appeal to investors, collectors and users.

I'll echo Jim's sentiment...it's the blade cut and length. Seems like a great "beater" blade, can't beat that price.

Ah, it is the fact they are a bit shorter with more belly that has me salivating!!

That should make them a bit more useful as a general purpose blade. Plus, now, I have a B11 with a Res C handle, and know that I like the material.

Also, the $80 price tag just can't be beat for the steel choice, and warranty!

That is one thing that keeps me out of the yard is the S77 (a great steel I am sure, and super tough, but if I am going for a much much less stain resistant steel than Infi, I want the best edge retention).

You tell Lexi, that if she slips me an over run Regulator or two, I will wear my special padded helmet, and send her a pic of me holding the knives.

(I really need a special helmet after the epic fail I had on my email time!)
