Just a heads-up, nowhere else seems to have Szaboflys yet--- *** Sorry, can't list the retailer here *** has an honest-to-God Szabofly for sale in its Spyderco display cabinet for $135. I didn't know if I was wrong and they are indeed in production and I'm just missing them, or if this is just a weird happenstance that a medium-sized dealer like them has an early production one. Just thought I'd let anybody who lived around them know; I'm not a fan of balis so I thought I'd get the word out. Good luck, hope I helped, stay safe and God bless America.

Hmmm currently there is likely only 200 in circulation...with today's bad news regarding importation, it is slightly possible that those 200 will be the only ones in circulation...

the 200 was a first production run and all numbered for collectors, spyderco took a loss on making them and cancelled regular production. This came from spyderco by way of my knife guy.

Another investment opportunity, my Sazbofly is #183 nib condition. I wonder how many Spyderflys were made with VG10 steel? I have two nib condition. The Sabofly at the Shop in Ohio would be a bargin at $135.00. So few Saboflys will run the price up rather quickly.

Actually, a bit of a correction, the current status of the Szabofly has nothing to do with us "taking a loss". We didn't. It's a completely separate issue.

Hope this clears things up.

Those darned knife guys, are they shooting the breeze and blowing smoke or giving us facts. Darned knife guys.

Hey Taz, I'm curious why you edited out the name of the shop in the original post? I couldn't find a rule about it in the FAQ section of Bladeforums, nor do I see any extra rules stickied here in the Spyderco subforum. Am I missing something?

I see links and referrals to Webstores all the time. Are brick and mortar different or something?

My Sazbofly is #083 not #183. If all the Sazboflys made was 200, there are only 199 left. The first Sazbofly I received had a defective latch and was
#087 I sent it back and 6 weeks later received #083.

So what's the story? Some of us were still waiting for them to come out? You telling me I shouldn't hold my breath?

What is the whole story on this model? Only 200? Why? Of the Spydie Bali's, I'm actually fondest of the Szabofly. It's very unique .. and as I found out last night VERY sharp .. bandaid ... required ... :o

Taz .., can you help out here? What's up?

It was addressed in a recent thread. In regards to most of their Bali products Customs raised some questions, Spyderco expects to clear it up in a few months.

Previous to that was some sort of quality control issue that was taking longer than expected to clear up specifically with the Szabofly.
