I posted this in the sword forum, but it doesnt seem to be getting anywhere, so I thought I'd give it a try here.

Ive seen some swords made of T-10 tool steel, anybody have any info about it? I found out that its a HSS steel but thats about it. If they're making swords from it, I assume it has good toughness. Thanks in advance.

It's NOT a HSS ! T-10, made by the Japanese Co Daido , .95 C, .35 Si, .5 Mn, .25 Ni. It's like a 1095 with a bit of Ni.

it would have to be tempered way down if it has characteristics like 1095. I would recommend, something like 5160 or 1080.

They website states that the T-10 blades are differentially hardened, but without any pictures nor reviews of the swords, I cant be sure.
