Full-review in the works. Will be posted this week. Read more about this blade on the Gossman Subforum here on bladeforums.

Thanks UKknifer. It really is just a simple design IMHO. Just blending together everything that has worked for me in the past. Nothing new, just proven and purely a workhorse. Full-review soon.

Looks great:thumbup:. Scott makes a great blade, I was using his golok today, great stuff.. BTW, nice sheath....

seems like alot of designs are moving from traditonal scandi towards a more drastic drop point lately. I find that interesting. I really don't know which I prefer.

No offense meant, but it looks just like a BKRT Aurora with .25" less blade length.

I disagree - fatter scales, full (either flat or convex) grind, thinner blade, and a different hand profile.

It is similar - but different enough to make the difference. I think that Kevin isn't snobbish enough not to just use an Aurora if it would work for him.

Like I said, I didn't want to offend.

I have an older Aurora which I'm told is slightly different from the newer ones, in that it has a full convex grind, versus the small, flat section at the top. It is about .014" thicker, and the scales on the Polaris are slightly larger.

I'm also not calling Kevin a snob. Sometimes small differences make a big difference, I've ordered customs that were very slightly different in a few spec than certain production models, but to me they made all the difference.
Just sayin, it's very much like a shorter Aurora.

Brotha, don't take me the wrong way. No offense taken. Just droppin' my two pennies. We are all brothers here - and I knew what you meant. You were just wrong. ;)

What I do know is that it looks a great blade and subtle design changes can make big differences. With Scott's quality in craftmanship this has gotta be a winner !!!!;)

Looks great Kev, Scott does build some fine user blades.

I look forward to your review.

Okay - when you put them next to each other... they do look a lot like the other. I stand corrected.

But hey - if it works... ;)

Yeah, my Aurua is a first generation and has a full convex blade, but the handle has a much larger backend; the newer ones are different. There are some similarities, but the overall design is a pretty universal one...I'm sure handling both side by side would present some small differences. Either way, that's a good looking bush blade!

Now that's been established. . . ;)

I'm going to predict a fantastic review of the knife by Kevin, as the Aurora has proven to be the best bushcraft blade I've ever held, and this one was made specifically for his tastes, so, expect a beaming report.

It is similar to the Aurora, but also a lil different. Wider blade, wider handle, all edges look more rounded as well. The last knife Kev helped design was the BRKT H&C forum knife . That knife has about the same handle profile but is more of a drop point. Anyway, when ever you design a knife, no matter how much you try to be original it most likely will resemble a different knife that has allready been made... Just my .02 :)

I look forward to the review Kev.
