T&E Day with the latest Estela-designed Gossman

I don't see it being similar much. Except the spearpoint blade. The handle isn't similar much. Probably looks more like caveman Umphus's chert knife more than the BRKT, and ole Umphus probably just make his to look like Groomps knife too. What I'm saying is that that particular Barkie is a common shape from time immemorial, and not a copy.

...whenever you design a knife, no matter how much you try to be original it most likely will resemble a different knife that has allready been made...

Tony hits the nail on the head.

There's nothing new in knife design that has not been done in the past.

The key is to tweak the design to work well for the intended tasks.

It looks like Kev's design will prove to be a real user and with Scott's heat treatment and edge geometry it should be a workhorse.

Tonym is right as quoted by Big Mike. Since I made the knife it is similar but different from most of the "bushcraft' styles typical to this pattern. To see the subtle differences, you would have to put similar knives next to one another. Kevin sent me a cut out of his design which I followed. I've handled many different bushcraft patterned knives, it is well thought out through his eye and different. To keep it true to his design, I'm having them waterjet cut. Hand profiling is difficult to keep them exactly the same.
