Benchmade tried a claw style push dagger years ago with their Kuma Zume model. It never really got any footing, and is sort of a forgotten model now.
There have been a few other hooky push daggery designs marketed to hunters, rescue workers, and parachutists. Sadly, they never really caught on either.
That being said, your profile is neat looking, and who knows, you might tap into a niche market.
You have the right idea on the handle size. Most push daggers, including my Terminator, the handle is bit small. With a larger handle you can get more leverage and comfort and maybe solve some issues there.
I like the idea of using standard size utility blades.
Dude!! Now that is a badass little fixed blade! I legitimately got excited when I saw the picture, something about it really grabbed me. Beautiful stuff right thereFor sure! I used to carry a slip joint with a hawkbill blade, might have to dig that one out again... Although I don't have any small fixed blades with that kind of blade shape, it would be neat to have one in such a small form factor.
