T.R.E. Three Rapid Exchange LionSTEEL

Gianni, grazie mille! It seemed in the video, that the G10 version had a screw put into the back of the blade as if it was possible to have the thumbdisc on it (see the bottom blade of my YT snap)... So I was a little bit confused wheter the G10 knife will have the possibility of having the thumb disc attached or not.

Do you have any pictures of the G10 version, please?

The versions will be:
1- full Titanium with three different colors for spacer and clip: grey, blue and bronze
The blade will have the swedge
The knife will have the TRE system: possibility to add the flipper.
versions will be:
2- carbon Fiber handle, with Ti spacer and clip
The blade will have the swedge
The knife will have the TRE system: possibility to add the flipper.
3- entry level. G10 handle, G10 spacer
Ti frame and Ti clip
Blade without swedge
The knife will be a normal flipper-knife. Without the possibility to take away the flipper

Awesome news on this! I am OK with no thumbstud in exchange for no swedge. Guess I'll be going G-10 with an aftermarket scale eventually. Or buying both and switching parts and selling the other. Not sure yet. But this with FFG is just pure love.

All the knives that I have here at the Shot Show are samples, there are some combinations of blades and handles that will not put in production.

G10 will not have the possibility to have the thumb stab.

Thanks! I thought that these knives are just pre-production samples... I really like the full titanium model but I´m going to buy the G10 version first, I love the clean lines of the blade and the whole knife. Looking forward to the pictures of the G10 model!

Caged bearings like Hi Jinx?

Did Gianni ever answer your question, RZ? If so, I must have missed his response.

No.

Gianni,

Inquiring minds like to know more about the TRE.

IKBS? Yes
Caged Bearings? Don't know.
Metal or ceramic ball bearings? Don't know.

Molte grazie.

IKBS like Hi Jinx, metal.

Much better in terms of showing the crisp flipper action. Thanks.

However, it needs to show all angles of the knives much closer with time to digest each angle.

With my ipad here at the show it is difficult make good video... I do hope this one will help.

Gianni, Thanks for the new video.

My ideal TRE would be the following which probably won't happen:

  • Full titanium
  • Plain color titanium clip & backspacer
  • Flipper only (no hole or swedge on the blade spine)
  • No clip hole on the reverse side

I can dream! :)

Only the extra clip holes detracts considerably from the aesthetics and it only caters to 10% of the population.

I look forward to adding a full Ti, with blue accents to my collection.

I for one appreciate all the features of the Titanium version...

Can you imagine living in a country, where flippers are illegal, thumbstuds are illegal, the Spyderco hole is illegal.

AND I am lefthanded!!!:(

I did not mean it as a slight to Europeans or left-handers. On the contrary, TRE's design is very inclusive which is great.

I just posted what my optimum TRE would be mostly in the aesthetics department without the extra holes.

Agree with all these points for my ideal design as well. The the extra holes and flat base of the left-handed carry option do interrupt the beautiful flow of the handle design.
